editA prior consistent statement is not a hearsay exception. It may be classified as "not hearsay," but that is not the same as being a hearsay exception.
- It is, however, the kind of statement that would be excluded as hearsay if it was not being introduced to show consistency (or lack thereof) with a later statement. bd2412 T 22:29, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
