Ponerosteus
editIn 2000, George Olshevsky revisited Procerosaurus and found the name to be pre-occupied by a protorosaur synonymous with Tanystropheus. He gave the dinosaur he had named Procerosaurus a new name: Ponerosteus. Therefore, Procerosaurus Fritsch, 1905 is a different reptile from Procerosaurus von Huene, 1902. 72.194.116.63 20:22, 19 February 2007 (UTC) Vahe Demrijian. 19 February 2007. 12.22
Synonymy of Procerosaurus with Tanystropheus
editMerge the page Procerosaurus with Tanystropheus, becaue Procerosaurus Huene 1902 is synonymous with Tanystropheus (Wild 1973), while Fritsch's Procerosaurus is now Ponerosteus.

Synonym
editI don't know why the PBDB says otherwise, but based on all other avilable evidence (laid out at [1] - which was actually used as a source here) this is indeed a junior synonym and not a distinct genus. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 21:41, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
