PBA Move from ABC-TV to CBS

Did the PBA go to CBS in 1997 or 1998? I thought it was in 1998, because ABC definitely televised the spring tour in 1997, and I think CBS picked up with the spring 1998 show, but I could definitely be wrong. --MMan710 04:35, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Headings at bottom

I think the "types" portion of bowling should be removed in the bottom header box. Since the PBA is only involved with ten pin bowling, I don't think that bocce and stuff like that should be connected to this article. --MMan710 23:52, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

I'm not sure how to add it in Wikipedia format. This link says there are 4100 members. I'm still trying to find the proper source for the 700 members.

Link for Bowl.com

I am not sure why the link to bowl.com was added. It is a link for the official site of the USBC, not the PBA. Should it be removed?--MMan710 04:33, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Bowl.com does host news and articles about PBA Tour events, and the USBC is now a major sponsor of the Denny's PBA Tour. I don't know if that makes it worthy of a link or not. Howenstein115 19:06, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Bad information in the history of PBA

The article states that the PBA was formed in ohio in 1958....This is incorrect!!! The PBA was formed in the basement of the Onondaga County War memorial durring the 1958 ABC tournament in Syracuse NY.

Various PBA publications I've collected over the years as well as the PBA site itself all say the PBA was formed in Akron. Perhaps the idea of the PBA was formed in Syracuse. Kevindh71 (talk) 21:21, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Both may be correct. It is just a matter of how you define "formed", and whether "formed" is even the right word to use. I do remember the Syracuse link, as the Budweiser team and the like would compete in tournaments in Syracuse. And, I wouldn't be surprised if Eddie and the soon-to-be charter members would meet at a hotel room in Syracuse and discuss the formation of the PBA. But, it is a fact that the PBA was incorporated in Akron - the same city where Eddie was practicing law. I think the incorporation location is the true birth of any for-profit organization. groink 03:43, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

More graphics / visuals for the article

With more information being added to the article, it would be a bonus to add some more visuals of bowlers, logos, etc. But I'm not sure which site would license visuals for Wikipedia use... and even then I'm not sure how to download them myself. United States Open article in error

In the article 'United States Open' there's a statement that "Mike Lemongello won the first modern-day U.S. Open in 1971 defeating Teats Semiz". I'm not a bowling expert, but surely that can't be right. I'm hoping one of you who is an expert can fix.

Suggestions for shortening main PBA article

Per suggestions, I moved the PBA Women's Series and 2008-09 Season sections to separate articles. I believe the remaining suggestions should be ignored and the notes deleted, as the article is now considerably shorter.Howenstein115 (talk) 18:01, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Reorganization of the PBA articles

Many people don't realize that the PBA is not just bowling tournaments. Like golf's PGA of America, the PBA is an association that serves a whole range of services - from teaching to drilling bowling balls. Therefore, I'm re-organizing the PBA articles so that they resemble the PBA's organization. The first step is this article - creating the PBA Tour article, by pulling sections from the PBA article. And then, make the PBA article the umbrella article, with the tours occupying its own articles. If you have any questions about the re-org, please chime in via this talk page.
