April 5, 2017 edits regarding summary of rodeo events on this article

Ncicere10 White Arabian Filly WAF, regarding your edit removing the recently added summaries of rodeo events next to their links to external articles, I would further add the following: This article is about the PRCA as an organization. They do not provide descriptions of rodeo events on their web site. Then neither should this article. This article does not need any other references to support it, except the PRCA web site. The article should discuss what's on the PRCA web site and what the organization does. It's obviously very short and does not cover everything on the web site, so yes, it could be improved. I am familiar with the PRCA web site. It definitely does provide a glossary of terms, but does not provide any long descriptions of what rodeo events are. I believe if information is to be added about rodeo events, it should go into the individual articles that exist and it is not disservice to link from the PRCA article. Other similar organizations who follow similar structure are ProRodeo Hall of Fame, Bull Riding Hall of Fame, and the Professional Bull Riders. Each of these articles only discuss what is on their web sites. This information is more for the benefit of the editor who took all that time writing the summaries. I am sorry you spent so much time only to have it reverted. Hopefully, you are not discouraged from editing again. Please feel free to discuss your viewpoint here on this talk page. First, let me begin by saying that now with the benefit of hindsight, most of what I wrote here is complete balderdash. The PRCA does provide descriptions of rodeo events on their website. PRCA Competition Events

Uricarrillo94 Okay, I see some large entries to this article as you pointed out you added. Naturally, they need to be sourced. We have a great resource for sourcing this material in the PRCA Media Guide. The latest one for 2017 is available. However, I'm not finding that all of the competition events match up by name to the ones you added. Can you take a look at the source and see if perhaps some have been renamed? If so, we can provide the current and previous name if we think it is warranted. For example, I know that the RAM Circuit used to be the Dodge Circuit. But I think it's long enough that we don't need to include the previous name on that one. Anyway, here is the link for the guide's table of contents. I know that the introduction mentions some of the events that don't seem to have a chapter named for them. Some of the chapters may cover more than one event. Once we know which chapters cover which events, I can add citations for all of them. You can also verify that what you wrote is covered by the guide and matches up as obviously the PRCA Media Guide is going to be an accurate reflection of the competition events at present. Updated PRCA Page

Hello, Dawnleelynn or whoever reads this first. I have updated the PRCA Wikipedia page to make it up to date. The 2019 PRCA Media Guide includes all the countries in which PRCA events are sanctioned. That is why I added Mexico and Brazil to the list. Also, apparently the All-American ProRodeo Series no longer exists, meaning the 2018 finals event was the last, so I removed it from the Tours and Championships section. I added the Xtreme Broncs Tour, since it along with the Xtreme Bulls and ProRodeo tours are the other major regular season tours for the PRCA. Since I am unfamiliar with knowing how to add sources, I was hoping you could update the source section and did the 2019 PRCA Media Guide. Thank You Very Much! National Circuit Finals Steer Roping (NCFSR) added

Hello, Dawnleelynn. I added the National Circuit Finals Steer Roping to the circuits and championship events section. I commented that I would appreciate it if you or someone else could add a source to the event. I saw that you deleted it and commented as to why, but you made it sound as if you did not even read what I posted, so I added it again. The National Circuit Finals Steer Roping (NCFSR) is a different event from National Circuit Finals Rodeo (NCFR) and National Finals Steer Roping (NFSR). Uricarrillo94 (talk) 03:49, 16 May 2019 (UTC)

New Broadcasting Network

Hello, Dawnleelynn or whoever reads this first. I am writing this to let you know that I will be making few changes to this page. In September 2019, the PRCA signed a multi-year agreement with The Cowboy Channel for it to be its exclusive broadcast partner starting in 2020. As I am writing this, nothing has been posted as of yet to the PRCA’s official website in regards to its television schedule, but I recently came across a video from The Cowboy Channel’s YouTube page in which producers highlight some of the events that will be televised. So, to make things easy, I will be adding a section on the PRCA’s Wikipedia page that mentions The Cowboy Channel and the events it will be televising. If anything new comes up, I will be sure to add it. Also, the All-American ProRodeo Series is apparently a thing of the past. The annual finale, which used to take place in October, did not occur in 2019. So, I will be removing it from the Circuits and Championships page. Uricarrillo94 (talk) 07:28, 11 January 2020 (UTC)

Hello, Dawn. I was referring to the All-American ProRodeo Series, not the ProRodeo Tour. The latter is still very much a part of the PRCA schedule. The former was what was considered by some as the PRCA’s minor league in the United States. There was not a rodeo last year on the PRCA schedule that was mentioned as part of the All-American ProRodeo Series, and the finale which took place in Waco, Texas in October did not occur. The Waco Rodeo did take place, but as a typical regular season PRCA rodeo that was not part of a major tour. So, it appears as though the All-American ProRodeo Series is now defunct. PRCA Television and Streaming

Hello, Dawnleelynn or whoever reads this first. It has come to my attention that apart from being televised on the Cowboy Channel, PRCA events are still being streamed on the Wrangler Network and ProRodeoTV.com. A month ago, I thought that would no longer be the case, but sure enough, it is. To make things easy, I will be editing the Television section of the PRCA’s Wikipedia page to state that events are also streamed in said websites, and since specific events have varied where they have been streamed or televised in the last several years, I will simply put that PRCA events are found on the Cowboy Channel, Wrangler Network, and ProRodeoTV.com. In regards to RidePass, apart from PBR events, it also live-streams World Champions Rodeo Alliance (WCRA) events, the Indian National Finals Rodeo, the United States Team Roping Championships, and the National High School Finals Rodeo. There’s also FloRodeo.com, which live-streams PBR events, Jackpot rodeo events, the Canadian Finals Rodeo, National Little Britches Rodeo Association, and the International Finals Youth Rodeo. There’s also Tuff Hedeman TV, where one pays a certain amount of money in order to watch all the Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding Tour events live, but are they’re all archived and available on the site when the season ends.
