- That would work, and it would have the benefit of also preventing some other blinking bit of consarned nonsense getting written into this space. Geogre 22:57, 26 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Keep -- really now. First, Geogre, there are at least three South Park episodes that involve Butters' transformation into this alter ego. Since by your own account you've only seen three episodes of the whole series, why do you jump to the conclusion Prof. Chaos is only in one? He was in only one of your small sample, a different matter! Second, this could easily develop into an interesting explanation of certain broader themes. Third, I'm getting tired of the trigger happy invocation of Vfd in cases such as this. Heck, somebody recently tried to Vfd Jean Luc Picard! one of the central figures of the Star Trek universe! This isn't as obvious a case for inclusion as Picard but, heck, we aren't printing this on paper. --Christofurio 23:53, Nov 26, 2004 (UTC)
- this could easily develop into an interesting explanation of certain broader themes. Good. You write that, and then get back to us. Meantime, Delete. --Calton 01:37, 27 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Comment: I'm against characters from TV shows being broken out into separate articles in general. My standard is that a character that passes into general culture so that it is an allusion in unrelated media needs to be discussed, as people who don't know its native context will need an encyclopedia to find out about it. Thus, Captain Kirk, for example, is absolutely in. He's a reference in song, newspapers, etc. On the other hand, Digimon's super freak transformer friend doesn't. I'm not saying that I don't want the information in the Wikipedia, but that there is neither any benefit to a separate article nor any use to it. The separate article strands the information away from the articles that fans will be reading, in fact. In the case of Professor Chaos, you're right that I made an incorrect assumption that it happened once. However, I still think it fails to be a title that people will need to look up separately by its own name alone to find out about. The people who type it into a search box and expect to find this content already know that it's from South Park. Therefore, it should be discussed in the South Park article, in my opinion. That there is already a Butters article is not up for deliberation. Since it exists, redirect there. Further, the wider themes should be discussed in the South Park article, IMO. - Redirect to Butters. A fictional character such as this doesn't garner enough notability for two Wikipedia articles. [[User:GRider|GRider\talk]] 21:54, 29 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Merge and redirect sounds good to me. Definently NOT delete. User:Goosey

Why don't we redirect this to the episode, where it will give further knowledge about "Professor Chaos". --Yancyfry jr

editThe vast majority of this article is already said in Butters main page. And there hasn't been enough of Professor Chaos to fill an entire seperate article about him. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Thrawny (talk • contribs) 17:19, 16 March 2007 (UTC).
- Possibly, but he is still quite important, then again it would be confusing identifying the page and understanding who Butters is if you don't watch SP. He's an important alter-ego, he mostly comes every few years.....mostly. How about a List of South Park villains?

- I do think that this would be far more effective as an addition to the Butters article rather than on it's own. Tweeks Coffee 17:54, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
