Recent edits to store count and list of stores
edit@Tree11667: Please do not continue to change the number of stores at the Mall to 248 without providing an updated citation that supports this number. Currently the realty page states that there are 137 retail stores and the store directory lists 150. Neither number approaches 248. We cannot include uncited information in the encyclopedia, much less information that disagrees with cited sources.
Also, it is not appropriate to try to list every store at the Mall, or even most stores (e.g., Starbucks), especially since stores typically change over time. The anchor stores are already listed. There is a link to the Mall Web site in the article, which presumably should contain an up-to-date list of stores.
If you have questions, please post them here. But do not continue to make the same edits over and over again, as they will be reverted unless we (you and other editors contributing to this article) can reach some understanding as to whether they are appropriate and why.

Hi there. The information i have inserted is absolutly correct. The mall has underaged a major renovation adding more shops. if you would please visit the malls website directly instead of third party website citing that would be a better source thank you if your page which attracts hundreds of people has misleading information, the chances of potential customers for the mall decreases. This is why it's very cruel that you please avoid undoing the proper information as you have done sevaral times. if it is possible, Please undo the page to the last available revision,. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zack1189 (talk • contribs) 01:45, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
- @Zack1189: Information here needs to be verifiable and supported by one or more reliable sources. Thus far, the only sources for the article, including the Mall's official Web site[1] and the site of its leasing firm,[2] report different information than the information you and others (who I suspect may be you or someone connected with you) have been continually trying to add without citation. You need to see that the sources are updated first, or provide other sources that support the change (such as newspaper articles about the renovation) before you attempt to introduce the information here on Wikipedia. If you have other comments, please make them on the Talk page for the article (to which I will copy both your and my comments), as that is where this discussion belongs. - Also, we seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding here. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. It is not advertising. If you are relying on Wikipedia to attract customers to the Mall, you are misusing it. The encyclopedia should only reflect facts, supported by reliable sources; it should not be used as a marketing tool. Dwpaul Talk 02:02, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
- @Zack1189: We do not seem to have been able to resolve this through discussion here. Since you have now been reported for edit warring, any further discussion should take place at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring#User:Zack1189 reported by User:Dwpaul (Result: Blocked). I strongly advise you refrain from any further edits until that case is resolved. Dwpaul Talk 02:41, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
Store count redux
edit@Zack1189: Please explain why you have (once again) introduced the information that there are 250 stores in the mall, sourced to the store directory[3], when the store directory only lists 172 stores and mentions that there are "more than 150 stores". This does not meet the criteria for verifiability required here on Wikipedia. Dwpaul Talk 21:02, 22 January 2014 (UTC)
- In answer to your question "Ok so if there are 175 stores, where do you continue to write 150 there are no references for that number", see here. At this point, apparently lacking a reliable number (and not knowing whether the directory is current or not), we have two choices: we either remove all figures for the number of stores from the article, or we go with the most conservative figure. I could go with "more than 150" rather than "150", but that is far as we can go. Dwpaul Talk 21:11, 22 January 2014 (UTC)
Cadillac Fairview mall articles name discussion
editPlease see Wikipedia talk:Canadian Wikipedians' notice board#Cadillac Fairview malls. --Skeezix1000 (talk) 15:43, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
- The clear consensus at WP:CANTALK (link above) was that we should continue to be referring to the malls by their common names, albeit mentioning the CF branding in the body of the article. The other article titles were moved back to where they had been, to the extent that they hadn't been moved back already, but I moved this article to "Promenade" since there doesn't seem to be one common name (Promenade Shopping Centre, Promenade Mall, Promenade, The Promenade). The fact that the owners called it CF Promenade suggests that perhaps Promenade is the most common name for the centre, and I simply went with the simplest version of the name. I don't have a strong opinion on this, other editors may be more knowledgeable on this topic, and I have no issue if someone wants to take steps to move it to one of the other non-CF names if they think it more appropriate. --Skeezix1000 (talk) 17:48, 10 February 2016 (UTC)
I disagree, per my comments, and WP:NATURAL disambiguation. ViperSnake151 Talk 21:27, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
- That's fine. But the consensus at Wikipedia talk:Canadian Wikipedians' notice board#Cadillac Fairview malls is clear. Skeezix1000 (talk) 20:19, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
Merger proposal
edit- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- The result of the discussion was merge. Username6892 13:22, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
I propose to merge Promenade Terminal into Promenade (shopping centre) and Vaughan Mills Terminal into Vaughan Mills. Both terminal articles have been GNG tagged since 2011 and the platform assignments section looks like a directory. I think both articles have salvageable content that can be sourced but they do not have enough to justify their own articles. Username6892 17:17, 12 April 2020 (UTC)
- Support - I don't see a need for separate articles for the transit termini. The resulting redirects should target the new subsections, of course. PKT(alk) 20:03, 24 April 2020 (UTC)
- If no one objects, I will perform the merge on May 1. Username6892 20:10, 24 April 2020 (UTC)
Address & Territory
editEven though the article states that the promenade is in Vaughan, Vaughan and Thornhill overlap. The official website for the promenade claims to be in Thornhill as does every other source. The promenade is in both so either is correct but would it not be better to mark the address as Thornhill for correlation with other sources?
