Digest-based promoter bashing vs. mutation-based promoter bashing
editIt seems there are two common ways to perform promoter bashing — by removing elements from the promoter in a restriction digest, and by mutating elements of the promoter. I feel that when I was elaborating on the procedure, I wasn't clear enough that both methods are used. Additionally, I was only able to find sources describing mutation-based promoter bashing. — RC Howe (talk) 00:41, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- I've added some information about 3' vs. 5' deletions, and found a (decent) source for deletion-based promoter bashing. I'm also wondering about the procedure: it was there when I started working on the page and I've improved it a little, but I don't see many procedures on other molecular biology pages, so maybe this should be changed to add a procedure on a vendor's site under a "further reading" section or something like that. — RC Howe (talk) 23:03, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
