Director of NYSFD
editHi, Jessamyn. Thanks for your creation of the article. Could you please check one thing? In the article, you write,
He also served as director for [[New York School for the Deaf]].<ref name="Wetmore2017"/>
Can you please double-check that reference, to make sure they are talking about the "New York School for the Deaf", which started out in 1817 as the "New York Institution for the Instruction of the Deaf and Dumb" and ended up in White Plains, NY? Because there is also another school with a very similar name, namely the New York State School for the Deaf in upstate New York (Rome, NY).
If you could add a verbatim quote to the {{cite book}} using the |quote=
param, or as an excerpt below, to make sure we are talking about the right NY Deaf School, that would be great. Thanks again for the article, Mathglot (talk) 22:45, 9 February 2019 (UTC)
- Sure thing, I will check that out and make sure I'm correct about that. The book I was reading doesn't have more of a cite but I bet I can track one down. Jessamyn (talk) 04:39, 10 February 2019 (UTC)
- @Mathglot: - confirmed by finding his name in the annual report, and added a citation. Would it be worth using the name of the school at the time he was there? I'm never sure about wiki etiquette for schools that change names. Jessamyn (talk) 18:34, 10 February 2019 (UTC)
- @Jessamyn: Yes definitely the name at the time. I think there’s already a redirect for it so you can wiki link it without piping it. Mathglot (talk) 07:28, 15 February 2019 (UTC)
- Done. Thank you for your help. Jessamyn (talk) 16:59, 15 February 2019 (UTC)
