- Agree. Over 1000 DMS100 switching systems were originally deployed. Not sure who or how they are being supported now Nortel is gone. PROTEL is a side note in general software history but digital telephony was revolutionary. Before DMS100 was SP1 crossbar with software control using SP1ESE pre-procedural language.
