I am not sure. Founded date in June 22, 1703 on Wikipedia. It was June 16, 1729 on Family Search. Providence County, RI Family Search --Rossdegenstein (talk) 20:22, 15 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

According to that website (which is a wiki), it's precursor was Providence Plantations County, founded in 1703. This agrees with the Rhode Island Atlas of Historical County Boundaries here.
