The hospital is in unincorporated Washington County. Both Portland and Beaverton are nearbye. If you review Portlands GIS info for the property (based on the address given by the hospital) you will notice that no taxes go to Portland. Compare to a lot in downtown. Once WaCo's GIS website is operating normally, their district's overlay maybe should confirm this as well. Aboutmovies (talk) 06:21, 16 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

The mailing address is Portland, and that may have led to the confusion. The Portland city limits end a few miles to the east. See this zoning map. —EncMstr (talk) 06:34, 16 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
And for the record, the reason why I listed Beaverton instead of Portland is because when you do compare city limits, the hospital is slightly closer to Beaverton. Aboutmovies (talk) 03:38, 17 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Closing date for the old St Vincent campus

edit

Is there a citation for the 1971 closing date? I was born at the old hospital in 1978... Ptelder (talk) 19:03, 5 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yes, see the footnote at the end of the sentence. I will also add a citation shortly from a 1970 Oregonian article talking about the transfer of patients to the new facility complete with a photo of the completed building in the background. Perhaps you are confusing St. Vincent's with Good Sam, with another now closed hospital (Physicians I think was the name) in NW, or maybe a clinic or something else took over at the old site and you were born there. But the new site was opened in 1971. Aboutmovies (talk) 03:45, 6 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Providence St.Vincent Medical Center in the media

edit

I'm not sure if this is a suitable topic but it has been mentioned favourably in the national media (the Pink glove dance that was a viral success for example) as well as other bizarre mentions (covert affairs used an exterior shot of Providence St Vincent as an exterior shot of a hospital where the lead character was being treated in Washington D.C. area...) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.173.0.22 (talk) 00:32, 9 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

"original building" photo

edit

I believe that is the second building, not original.

This probably isn't a wiki worthy reference but perhaps someone can find one: https://vintageportland.wordpress.com/2010/07/14/st-vincent-hospital-1909/ Bcostley (talk) 01:47, 3 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
