Córdoba vs. Cordove
editIf "Cordove" is the traditional name of Córdoba in English, Why don't you change the article to Cordove? Is the same thing as Seville or Andalusia. I´m a native Spanish speaker and we call your London "Londres", your New York and all your "News" (New Jersey, New Mexico, New Hampshire, New Orleans, etc) are Nueva York, Nueva Jersey, Nuevo Hampshire, Nuevo México, Nueva Orleans, etc. Sydney is Sídney and Dublin is Dublín. Just look to Louisiana, wich is Luisiana in Spanish. So what do you care about the name of places in the original language? Each language should have their own way to say geographic places. I think it's the same discussion as Zaragoza and Saragossa. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.3.79.89 (talk) 21:15, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Córdoba (province) → Córdoba (Spanish province) — Distinguish from Córdoba Province (Argentina). Doubtful that the Spanish province is more "important" than the Argentinian province. Just look at the population figures: Spain - 784,376; Argentina - 3,066,801. The name "Córdoba (Spanish province)" would be the closest to the current name, and more or less conform with the other provinces in Category:Provinces of Spain. — Chanheigeorge (talk) 07:29, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

- Support - there's no particular precedence now for the Spanish province over the Argentine, and the Argentine province is a higher order subdivision, and larger. Twice as many WP articles link to the Argentine Córdoba as to the Spanish.Martín (saying/doing) 13:26, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
- Comment - This article was viewed 1290 times in March 2009, while the Argentinian article was viewed 2465 times, that's nearly twice as many page views. Parsecboy (talk) 01:41, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Now there are 169 links that need fixing. -GTBacchus(talk) 02:15, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
- I'm dab-ing some of them. It'd be nice if everything that links to Córdoba Province [1], no matter intending to link to the Argentinian or Spanish province, eventually be dab-ed. Chanheigeorge (talk) 02:29, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
