Can anyone constrain the original author's assertion the P.shumwayae was "recently" discovered in the body of water in question? I recall discussions in the 1990s about the presence of this species in North Carolina. It makes sense to attach the remark to a specific date or to strike the time reference altogether. More generally, the assertions in this article are need to be properly cited. DDavis, 20071026, 21:04 UTC
From the reading I've done, it appears it was first discovered and characterized in NC, but it is found around the entire US east coast up to Long Island, NY, and in New Zealand and Australia, suggesting a world-wide distribution. - tameeria (talk) 22:34, 6 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
