edithttp://www.mhsanctuary.com/therapist/439.htm defines "psychotic break" as: "dissociation" is generally considered a "psychotic break". In other words, a person is so overwhelmed by either internal or external turmoil that what we generally think of their "ego" just plain collapses.
This corresponds with my understanding of the definition of a psychotic break and is in sharp contrast with the current state of the page.

A few of the Google search entries talk of a first psychotic break. If as the article currently reads a psychotic break is "the first time that a person experiences an episode of primary psychosis." the first psychotic break would be the last, as all subsequent psychotic breaks would be the second, third, etc... I am no psychiatrist but I've been through Opiate withdrawal many times and have never experienced anything like psychosis or schizophrenia. Conversely I don't know any opiate user who has. thesis statment
editThe introductory or thesis statment would only make sense to someone who is already familiar with thhe subject. It needs to be simpler and more comprehensive.
I would suggest an example, but I'm still not sure what's being said even after looking up definitions of several of the technical terms.
