Correction by Lesley Stark Tabor: this trip was in 1957. Rowland Tabor and I were on the first part of the trip, since it began in the area where Rowland was doing geological research. We weren't considered "official" members of Ira's party, as my sister Peggy Stark was, since we weren't doing the whole traverse, leaving the party to hike down Downey Creek to the Suiattle.
