Who issued coin?
editThis article asserts that the coin "Octadrachm Ptolemy III BM CMBMC103.jpg" was issued by Ptolemy IV in honor of his deified father, and that Ptolemy III did not issue coins bearing his own image. However, the Commons description of that coin says it was issued by Ptolemy III. Documentation on either side of the issue is scant or lacking. What is the truth, if known? If I knew how, I'd add a "citation needed" note. --Haruo (talk) 17:48, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

Clarification likely needed
editPerhaps this phrase, "the gymnasium where the Athenian youth were educated", should be elaborated to explain that these "youth" were only the non-enslaved upper-class males. (As I am no expert, I cannot be certain that this was the case, but perhaps other editors could either refute, or confirm and elaborate, with citation(s).) - I've clarified and added a ref. The gymnasium was for male citizens in this period (resident foreigners as well from 123 BC) and at some points in the Hellenistic period. The degree to which it was restricted to the upper class changed over time, depending on whether participation was state-subsidised, but the details are complicated and so this article probably isn't the place to say more than "young male citizens".
