Re-write of 2007.05.22

edit

I just completed a minor re-write, adding wikification and changing some sentences around to improve flow. I removed a couple of sentences about kiv-land, kiv-mania and kiver/kivver that had been added by an anonymous editor in July of 2006. I searched those terms in several dictionaries and on both Google and Yahoo! and found nothing to suggest that those terms exist, much less are notable. The only hit to "kiv-mania" is to this article. The only hit to "kivver" is someone's fishing pictures page where he shows his dad holding up some kind of fish. In any case, if someone can suggest why that stuff about kivver/kiver/kiv-land/kiv-mania is notable, have at 'er and put it back in. Be my guest. — Dave (Talk | contribs) 13:51, 22 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Misdirection

edit

When one tries to search for pumpkin seeds a suggestion for this page pops up. There's no indication it concerns a fish. One only finds that out once one gets here. This may satisfy some inane rule, but the general populous would be served by either a (fish) addition to the page or an easy way (clickable link) to get back to looking for the seeds of pumpkins than starting over again. 99.11.160.111 (talk) 04:36, 10 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

I added a link to the top. --Elliskev 16:56, 10 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Picture is not accurate

edit

The picture of the pumpkinseed under “Description” is not actually a pumpkinseed. That is a bluegill and pumpkinseed hybrid. Pumpkinseed do not have stripes like bluegill do, and bluegill do not have the blue streaks. Making this a hybrid and not accurate for this article. 2601:199:77F:E750:F49C:7D33:383B:7298 (talk) 00:04, 1 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Map

edit

If a map is included of Europe, where this species is 'invasive' - wouldn't it make sense to also include one of its native habitat - and ideally put this higher on the page? Someone just glancing at this page would be given the false impression that this species is native to the European continent. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.88.43.77 (talk) 14:41, 3 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
