Chronology section

This section is pure speculation and should not be presented as fact. The series has many continuity errors to the degree that it can be argued to consist of multiple timelines or rather the film makers for (sets) of films cared little for continuity between films. Major discrepancies exist between the first three for example to the degree that characters aren't even the same characters *example 2nd movie Toulon is a villain and the girl doll isn't Elsa, while the third has him as good and the doll is Elsa, as well as the nature of the elixir its self. Except, the producing team claims there is a chronology. Thus the problems should be considered continuity errors, and not speculation. But for the sake of argment, I'll make a quick list of these continuity problems:

Toulon's Revenge's backstory about gaining the Secret directly contradicts Retro's version. I'd always go in such cases with the later production.

Toulon's Revenge contradict itself stating Toulon gained the Secret 15 years ago in 1926, if 1941 is correct, but the poster from Egypt shows 1912 as date.

Retro does not include Sixshooter. As it is a permanent member, we must assume was out of camera. As in Axis of Evil it is dismantled, we can assume the event already occured.

continuity gap: Toulon's Revenge plays in 1941 and ends with Toulon leaving to Switzerland by train, but Retro shows Toulon only close to the swiss borders. He either went back, or had to get off the train, or 1944 is incorrect. Add this Axis of Evil, which obviously falsly incorporates itself into 1939 (by the intro scene taken from PM1). Both year-data can be considered typos. As Axis of Evil mentions it is happening during some new material for a bomb is in transport, we can deduce the correct year is 1942.

Both Retro states the retro-puppets are all lost, and Toulon's Revenge claims certain puppets of the same form contain new souls. But until we get a story explaining what Toulon promised to tell in Retro, we might consider this an error.

As Blade looks a bit different, but doesn't play any major role in Retro, but does have a significance in Toulon's Revenge, it is both possible they are different puppets, or the presence of Blade in Retro is an error.

Axis of Evil said the nazis took like 4 puppets. Axis Rising says they only had Tunneler/Drill Soldier. Khan disappeared entirely and none is missing it somehow. Like that puppet went out of canon.

In PM1 useage of the Elixir is missing, seems Toulon simply wishes his puppets into life, Jester being seemingly entirely fresh creation - what can be explained away by a repaint. These seconds got removed in Axis Rising by the way.

In Halloween 1988 (comics) for some reason the puppets turned evil, or are controlled, but previously on the timeline it was established they act of free will and are good. Kahn is there, but could be substituted with any other character. Also aside Niel has no direct connection, or explanatory power to anything.

PM1 states Neil is a resurrected human, and he isn't the first, which is at best a narrative gap. Also, Sixshooter is not present, but as they're doing a stealth mission, it's understandable.

In Halloween 1989 (comics) we see the puppets being overly protective of Megan, but we see them giving a reason to being passed away, whatwe see in Curse of the Puppet Master, whichalso fits best between PM1 and PM2, because of the fate of the Leech Woman.

Curse of the Puppet Master's creation method should have worked, or maybe the Doctor used the Elixir offscreen. Worse, Isee no motivation for the puppets to turn against the Doctor, but thenagain it might just be weak writing. Also, Sixshooter is there, but could be written out and substituted with Pinhead, rope being his signature weapon anyway.

I emphacised Sixshooter being replaceble in Curse, because it is noticably not present in His Unholy Creations.

Obviously because the lore is not developed in its production time, in PM2 they just pour the Elixir over Toulon's body to resurrect it.

In PM2 the tombstone of Toulon claims, his point of death was 1941. It was actualy '42.

In PM2 they tell, what seems the puppets took revenge on Megan Gallagher. It realy seems to contradict the nature of the puppets. Well, it is possible they are extremly opportunists, and desperatly in need of the Elixir... Either way, I wouldn't touch the idea of the puppets all being jews with a ten feet pole!

In PM2 Toulon is evil and delusional. Something has gone very bad during Toulon's resurrection process, and the movie actualy tells what: the puppets used animal parts for his resurrection. (But yes, obviously the idea at shotting was wildly different.)

In PM2 the 1912 poster is back, and that's definitely a continuity problem compared to Retro.

In PM5 for some mysterious reason, or just because the creators did a hugh mistake, Sutekh mumbles about him stealing Toulon's secret.

Equaly in PM5 the line about Toulon dying after the war shall be erased.

Legacy's origin story is a mess. It says 1912, Toulon being in Egypt, Azelf being the Merchant he learns the Elixir's secret... The clipshow-movie either way barely makes any sense, because the puppets being at Herst, not at Ricky, what was an unnecessary complication.

Action Comics story The Offering creates a new continuity problem by adding Torch, Leech Woman, and an empty Bodega Bay Inn. This three never happened the same time. If you take out Leech Woman, and put a time gap between the resurrection of Toulon and the para-team arriving in PM2, it'd be narratively appealing.

Action Comics story The Rebirth tries to reference PM2, but in a way it retcons Leech Woman's death, and also rises a lot of questions how Decapitron was created. This story also makes Torch's soul Toulon's child from WW2, but that's just an impossible idea. Btw, you can math out, that Torch's soul is actualy Megan Galagher in the movies.

Action Comics story Boy of Wood would have been a great story inserted after PM2. The obvious problem is, if Camille was evil and the puppets realised that, why didn't they destroy it there and then? Next issue with this story is Kahn. If they rescued it from the fire of the previous story, why not animate it? Also time to ask: how does Decapitron run on the same charge so long? Lastly, Neil Galagher is back? How?

Action Comics story Blood Dept states Neil Galagher died in 1990, but that contradicts both Halloween Special episode. He died in 1989. Also pulls out a new puppet, Golem, but the showing up of it is sheer impossibility.

Action Comics story Vanacy tries to retcon the destruction of Leech Woman, which kinda works, but where was she during her hiatus? They also jumped the shark with having Toulon's spirit both residing in Decapitron, and some new body snatcher character. I bet they themselves didn't know what their story is at this point. It's almost nothing at this point they introduce a yet-unseen puppet.

Action Comics story Retro Now tries to entangle the different backstories, but it makes zero sense. As the Sevret was stolen straight from its friggin god, and was only known by 1 person exactly, there's no chance for this spell-upgrade nonsense. Not to mention the souls of the new puppets is sucha sinkhole, you don't want to disturb it. With this story the Legacy-movie also goes way out of canon territory. Also, puppets can now cast real spells. I also think Decapitron justdisappeared from the story...

Six-Shooter does not appear in Retro.
Drill Sergeant's head does not appear in Axis Rising.
Gengie is not in PM1
Neil, Theresa, and Dana's dog are all puppets, missing from the chart.
Zombie Toulon, Tulon Doll, Camille Doll are not on the chart.
