Talk:Puppy Bowl
Untitled
editI've gotten disputing reports about the numbers of players in the game. Animal Planet's website lists it as being 14, yet other places say 22. Can anyone confirm the exact number of players in the game (and possibly the half-time show if you know)? Thanks. Chuck F 17:59, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
Well, since the show is ON Animal Planet, whom do you think will have the best information: the people who *produce* it, or... just some other folks out there? It doesn't take rocket science to tell me that I'd probably want to lean towards the number that the *producers* say it is... just a little bit, at least, ya know. The 2008 Controversy section is obviously cut and pasted from an AP article, but no references or citation is given. This needs to be fixed, or have it removed.74.237.204.146 (talk) 16:32, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
- I could not find any record of this article anywhere on the 'net. I think it is a fake, and propose it's removal.Posie (talk) 17:58, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
- It came from here, some blog apparently. It's been removed. hateless 19:35, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

episode list
editWhat means MTV in the episode list? --Kiste11 (talkrating) 08:27, 26 December 2015 (UTC)
- MVP means most valuable player, a term commonly used in sports as the player who performed the best during a game. I'll link to this in the article. Hoof Hearted (talk) 21:45, 9 February 2016 (UTC)

IMDB gaps
editFor the life of me I can't figure out why the Internet Movie Database doesn't list the original Puppy Bowl or Puppy Bowl VI. Should they ever appear on the site, they of course should be part of the list. ...I wonder if the list of IMDb links will someday be dozens long. Long before then may be it should get a separate external links section? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.194.97.116 (talk • contribs) 01:36, 6 January 2016 (UTC)
I don’t understand what you are asking AsherDoodle1115 (talk) 19:59, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
Puppies are dogs.
editSince puppies are dogs, then saying "dogs and puppies" is either like saying that puppies aren't dogs—which, of course, they are—or the redundancy of "dogs and dogs." So I propose a rewording from "puppies and dogs" to just "dogs," because by definition, the word "dog" is inclusive of all ages. Or in other words, old or young age is not specified by "dog" like it is by "puppy." (And to say just say "puppies and dogs" is like saying "puppies, and... some other species of animal," which is obviously not correct. But my edit was reverted, so I came here to discuss.
Thanks to anyone who understands this concept correctly and is willing to help form a consensus towards this correction by restoring, or supporting the restoration of, my editions to this effect. However, if editors absolutely feel the need to still be specific for some odd reason even though this article includes puppies with adult dogs, then let's correct the error in the more specific way by saying "puppies and adult dogs." Holy crap. Puppies are baby dogs. Yes they are the same thing, but puppies are like I said, baby dogs AsherDoodle1115 (talk) 19:58, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
I do not see any editorial value in blurring the distinctions of "puppy" and "dog" on a page specifically devoted to "Puppy Bowl". A short primer perhaps to help re-establish the enduring value of distinctions. Eggs are chickens but if you are making cookies and the recipe calls for 2 eggs and you decide distinctions don't matter and put 2 whole chickens in the mix - you are almost guaranteed not to produce "cookies" that anyone could detect. Tadpoles are frogs. Caterpillars are Butterflies. A junk yard guarded by puppies does not a JunkYard Dog make. I am miffed at your confusion between puppy and dog, but my resourceful comment isn't commentary about you as a person, just the "logic" you've presented for the sake of the article and dogs and puppies everywhere. I am and have been a lifetime enthusiast of dogs and their greater canine family. Since dogs cannot object to the insanities of man, I shall speak for them here until the Dog Allfather from Sirius (the Dog Star) finds a better representative in the human frequency to be Speaker of the Dogs. I do understand your concept, but I do not understand your motivation to "cancel" "puppy"/"puppies" in an article about puppies. Thank you for being willing to have a discussion about this possible edit. Zerostatetechnologies (talk) 22:35, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
The puppy penalties
editObviously all the “puppy penalties” are not listed in the penalties section. Some of the listed penalties have been discontinued by Animal Planet, the network that broadcasts and produces the show. I want to hear your thoughts on the penalties on the page and the ones not on the page and let me know. If you have any to add, always add to the page.
