Article name

edit

I'm no expert on political subdivisions of Poland, but at first glance the title of the article Purda, Poland doesn't appear to be consistent with naming conventions. Specifically, I have never seen an article title take the name of [City], [Country]. Usually in article titles a city or village name is given with the name of some subnational political subdivision (e.g., a county, state, or province), not the country name.

I realize the need to distinguish from Purda, a completely unrelated concept. I'd recommend moving to Purda, Olsztyn County, or Purda (Polish city). If you disagree we can see what others think by listing at WP:RM. KuyaBriBriTalk 15:10, 11 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Well, this style is quite common in fact. It isn't used for the main English speaking countries like the US or UK, but it is used with many other countries - see WP:Naming conventions (geographic names). There are certainly many examples for Poland (Hel, Poland, Police, Poland, and many others that I and others have created). So no, I don't think there's any need to change this name.--Kotniski (talk) 15:58, 11 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Like I said, I'm not an expert in this particular area and I am biased being from the USA. Suggestion withdrawn - Keep up the good work. KuyaBriBriTalk 16:30, 11 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
