Pure Rubbish is MY BAND!! This is my 1st article to submit to Wikipedia. In trying to submit a picture of my band Pure Rubbish, I indirectly messed up trying to submitt this information. I provide a link where I got the picture from at www.myspace.com/pure rubbish. The response I recieved was that it infringed copyright. The copyright it infringed WAS MY OWN!! I own the myspace page www.myspace.com/pure rubbish!!! The article written on thay page IS my own work!! I CANNOT MAKE THIS ANY CLEARER!! If you need "proof" please let me know how I can provide you with all the proper information. Sorry to sound so upset but I have spent the better half of a day trasnferring my own information to wikipedia only to find that it was completely deleted. If you don't think the information on Pure Rubbish is worth inclusion in wikipedia that I understand, but deleting my own work is wrong. I believe my band is worthy of inclusion on wikipedia. I have seen other bands' with less commercial success than Pure Rubbish get there information on the wikipedia website. I am not trying to creat avanity page and I submiited information from a neutral point of view. Please tell me if I'm doing something wrong.

Please write back ASAP!! jttrash00@yahoo.com or starryeyes138@yahoo.com

thank you for your help, Jarrett Gardner

p.s. starryeyes13800@yahoo.com (my email address) is also listed on the pure rubbish myspace account at www.myspace.com/pure rubbish which prooves that I own the copywritten information on the pure rubbish myspace account.

First, calm down and read WP:CIVIL. Second, this is a standard template that is placed when material is found on a website that is non-wikipedia clone. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, as would the people who would sue wikipedia if they found their protected material here on this website. The work you did is not gone, it was removed until the copyright stats could be determined. We can easily revert to your version now that we've done so. Make sure you read templates top to bottom to understand what they mean. Third, are you sure your band passes the notability guidelines set out in WP:BAND if you clean up the article and someone doesn't feel it meets those its likely to be questioned. People usually look at it very hard when a myspace page crops up in the first few google hits for a current band. Its hard to google your band though because of the name. I'll revert the page to your version now that we've established the copyright and you can go about cleaning it up.--Crossmr 02:08, 14 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Now in regards to cleaning this article up so it fits better with other articles on wikipedia. You should go about reading the Manual of Style WP:MOS. This will give you some guidelines on how to format things like italics, bolding, headlines, sections, etc. All those capital words will need to be worked out with another style. You also need to read WP:CITE to learn about how to add citations. Wikipedia is not a primary source, therefore the threshold for inclusion is verifiability not truth. Which means any facts, theories, opinions, etc that you put forth there have to be cited. Wikipedia does not allow original research. If you put forth information about your band, say a tour date or something like that, and it can't be independently verified, it falls under original research . Read WP:OR for more information on that. You also need to add internal links to the article. Things like when you mention a specific individuals name (a notable one like the producer who worked on Guns and roses) you should put them in double square brackets. If there is an article on them it will link to them. If there isn't it'll show up red, and you can remove the brackets until an article is created. Also don't link common place words like dog or cat if they really don't add anythign to the article. That should help you get started.--Crossmr 02:14, 14 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
