Talk:Purge (video game)
anyone who has more information feel free to help me --LizardPariah 06:45, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
The article says this is the first game to incorporate magic users in a FPS. Um. What about Hexen/Heretic?
Ok fixed--LizardPariah 06:45, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
I've changed the referencing slightly, into a different style (cite web) hope this is OK. The list of maps wasn't suitable so I've removed them. I'll gladly expand the gameplay section and keep citing and tweaking. QuagmireDog 22:41, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
Has anyone noticed that this game only has one alive server, and that server has ZERO players at all times? --Merrick79 18:04, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:PurgeScreenshot.jpg
editImage:PurgeScreenshot.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
"heretic was one of the first"
editWhy is Heretic significant here? Why not mention the actual first? I've no idea which games, exactly, was, but Ultima Underworld (1) was a couple of years earlier than Heretic, and much more significant as far as breaking new ground goes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.45.46.206 (talk) 15:21, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
Catacomb Abyss, from ID Software was the first person shooter ever. And it used magic! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.25.149.228 (talk) 17:07, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Why delete Purge-underground?
editCare to explain why Purge-underground was removed from the external references? It is the last website which actually has some real resources regarding Purge (A mirror of the official manual, links to mirrors of the game, etc).
Edit: Ah, It's explained here "personal web pages and most fansites, except those written by a recognized authority.". I apologize, I am new to Wikipedia and I didn't know the rules.
However, this particular fansite provides valuable info regarding Purge not available elsewhere. What is the best course of action in such a case? Specifically, it provides a manual once found on PurgeOnline.net (The official site which is now broken), the latest downloadable purge version (2.5.1p), a v 2.5.0 to v2.5.1 patch, and the (legally) free keygen. Those files are not easily found anywhere on the net for those who are seeking them, and I thought a link on Wikipedia would help those people. However, since fansites are not allowed, what should be done?
