Sonic Team's Involvment

Does anybody have any confirmation on the role Sonic Team has on this game? So far, all copyrights only mention Sega as making this gaming fully, as well as the Steam page saying Sega developed the game. However, what has me confused is that as pointed out by Namcokid47, since 2001 Sonic Team have been the developers of the Puyo Puyo Series, including the first Puyo Puyo Tetris game. What has me even more confused, is that in this GamesRadar+ article at Future Games Show, not only did Sonic Team present the game and unveil new content for it, but they even announced Sonic items are in the game. I didn't point this out, that was an IP. I personally agree with them, we shouldn't be automatically jumping to the conclusion that Sonic Team is behind this game without the confirmation of a reliable sources. Sure, Sonic Team has been behind the series since Sega purchased it from Compile, but there's plenty of other franchises that have been outsourced to other developers.
