Unreferenced section template
edit@Bandittx: I wonder why there is an unreferenced section template from January 2017 if the article was actually created just 3 days ago.[1] It makes me think you've added the template unintentionally during the creation of the article. I believe the template can be removed if that is affirmative, since it is misleading.--Renerpho (talk) 03:13, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Renerpho: The reason there is a template from Jan 2017 is because I based the QC page on OVO's page. I just added info pertaining to QC and removed OVO's info. The only way people would be able to tell would be looking at an older edit and seeing OVO Sound at the bottom. But sources were cited for the chart info. I dont know what else Magnolia677 wants me to do. --BandittX 21:11, 14 March 2018 (EST)
- @Bandittx: Copy/paste can be nice, but it can also cause trouble, if things are copied that shouldn't be.
I can only speculate (so don't nail me down on that), but I guess Magnolia677 was working on the list of articles that lacked citation, to do some housekeeping. (@Magnolia677: I apologise if that's completely wrong!) One of those articles was yours, because it had the template. So he/she looked at it and saw that the template had been ignored since January 2017. Which justified to delete the section. He/she would have never thought about deleting it if that template hadn't been there. If I am right then this problem should be fixed now. Just be careful next time that you don't copy/paste templates. --Renerpho (talk) 03:03, 15 March 2018 (UTC)

- @Renerpho: @Bandittx: I honestly don't see the reason why this article should exist, I remember this article been deleted because it didn't have much reliable sources. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 22:52, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- @TheAmazingPeanuts: I really didn't look at the article as a whole. So there was an article about it before this one, and it got deleted? --Renerpho (talk) 03:59, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Renerpho: Without a doubt there was an article about this label. I don't remember when it got deleted, but I say somewhere in late 2016 or early 2017. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 23:14, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- @TheAmazingPeanuts: Interesting. Do you remember if that was for lack of reliable sources only, or because it lacked relevance? If it was the former then having a new article isn't necessarily a problem. If the state of source material has changed (which it can do). But if it was due to lack of relevance then I'd guess that rationale remains valid (and the article may be a candidate for deletion). I can't say I care much (I stumbled upon this by accident when Magnolia677 sparked the debate, and only barged in to resolve the confusion)... --Renerpho (talk) 04:41, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Renerpho: It's pretty much both. To me, the article doesn't have many reliable sources and content to justify the article's existence, and I wouldn't be surprised if this article be deleted again. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 23:59, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Bandittx: You hear it. Maybe you can identify reliable sources to get around this. Notability (music) can help to determine if the article is actually important for Wikipedia. Unless, of course, the article is self-promotion (and you work for the label). In that case I suggest to leave it alone and let the community figure it out. --Renerpho (talk) 05:24, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
An article by this title has been speedy deleted twice (see here). As you may have noticed, I've PRODded it. And WP:NMUSIC doesn't apply to labels. This article would need to meet WP:CORP. Pinging BU Rob13 to look at this with an eye to speedy deletion and or SOCK. John from Idegon (talk) 06:06, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
- I see, thanks for the clarification regarding WP:NMUSIC vs WP:CORP, @John from Idegon:. I am curious, does the deletion process automatically include File:Quality-Control_Logo2.jpg which was created just for this article? --Renerpho (talk) 06:27, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
- Renerpho, to answer your question, kinda sorta. The file in question is a fair use file. This is the only article it can ever be used on. When this article is deleted, the file will be orphaned and a bot will automatically mark it as such. If a new article isn't created (which is doubtful, because WP:SALT will likely be deployed on this title as it's the third time it's been deleted) within a week and the file added to it, it will then be deleted. Roster Section
editThe roster section is updated according to https://qualitycontrolmusic.com/QC-Music-Artists. Does an artist have to be listed on this site in order to be included in this section, or is another reliable source good enough? I don't want to make up a rule without making sure others are okay with it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bandittx (talk • contribs) 21:17, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
