Original sites

Is it possible to give a more specific location that a "site on Goldhawk Road, Hammersmith, West London". Where on Goldhawk Road, please? Standard wiki location links would be most useful. Many thanks if you can . P.r.newman (talk) 19:19, 31 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Answered my own question (I was born there FWIW) and updated the article today. p.r.newman (talk) 15:59, 8 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Wine auction

edit

Not worthy of comment in the main article, but perhaps of interest to passing researchers, might be an auction by Messrs. Christie, Manson & Woods on 12 April 1937, “of Rare Wines & Liqueurs, Generously presented for Sale for the Benefit of “The Funds of Queen Charlotte’s Hospital”. The list of Donors starts with "His Majesty King George VI. When Duke of York”, then “His Excellency the French Ambassador”, then “His Excellency the German Ambassador”.

Lot 105, “Presented by His Majesty King George VI when Duke of York” was “One bottle of Port, Donna Antonia Reserva, A. A. Ferreira, 1840”, sold at £3.10s. (My pictures 22573-81.) JDAWiseman (talk) 18:51, 27 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
