Queen Mary's Song - change of name

edit

I propose that the name of this page be changed to Queen Mary's Song (Elgar) since there are at least 3 known versions of it to be found in IMSLP and Wikipedia. That is, by Kate Loder, C. V. Stanford, and H. W. Parker.

Thanks P0mbal (talk) 13:52, 4 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

1) Only 1 of them, Loder, is called "Queen Mary's Song", and that hasn't been published; has it been performed? How likely is an article about it? 2) Usual practice is not to anticipate disambiguators until they are needed; even then, with only 2 works, WP:ONEOTHER can be used. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 14:13, 4 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. Good reasons. Tennyson had quickly requested Stanford to write music for the songs, Elgar asked/told Tennyson years later and got a nice reply. Loder was only in m/s. Don't know about the American Parker, though he was a friend of Elgar's. So it seems best leave the page name as is. Thank you sorting out the display of the lyrics.
