Title

A Google search has turned up many articles that refer to 'Sir' as part of his name. Therefore, it must be included, as that is what he is most commonly known as. - (202.68.89.4 08:07, 7 November 2006 (UTC))

As his knighthood was an honorary one, "Sir" is not correct. Just because the press misuse British honorifics is no reason for Wikipedia to perpetuate the error. Jimmy Pitt (talk) 23:53, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

"Stepped down"?

There are two references in the article to his having "stepped down" but no explanation of the contest -- age, illness, unpopularity, politics ...? It seems most un-encyclopedia to leave it at "stepped down," which does not help the user gain any grasp of Botswana's politics and history. Lawikitejana 09:17, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

The man did the honarable thing and stepped down to pave way to new leadership. It was not done out of bowing to pressure, age, unpopularity etc. He had simply done his part and it was time to move on. I am confident one can search and probe in the attempt to find something controversial but it will be a wild goose chase. Garek removal

I removed the section on Garek, which was said to be at: garek.co.za. Both this and the news story were dead links. This article does suggest that the company was facing some difficulties in 2009, but the only mention of Quett Masire in the article is this: "Garek - which at one stage boasted former Botswana president Quett Masire as a director - comprised an array of little-known subsidiaries which ranged from resources and energy to construction and financial services."

That he was once a director, and that the company got into trouble later, doesn't really make for much for this particular biography. If Quett Masire was in some way directly implicated in the scandal, then it might argue for inclusion. But I haven't found that yet. First name

It seems that Masire called himself Ketumile Masire, not Quett Masire, for the past 20 years or so, see http://www.sirketumilemasirefoundation.org/ for his foundation etc. Therefore the lemma might be adjusted to Ketumile Masire. Most interwikis are on Quett Masire, though. Any opinions? --Vanellus (talk) 20:14, 24 June 2017 (UTC)

Certainly he seems to be known as Ketumile Masire in Botswana...
