Talk:Qvale

Latest comment: 16 years ago by Gene Nygaard in topic Pronunciation

I've edited to nearly a native English standard, but is this article even correct? The MG Rover article says that Qvale built their first car in 1986. --kingboyk 20:47, 5 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Also, MG_XPower_SV says that MG only leased the factory. --kingboyk 21:14, 5 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Some more Facts about Qvale

edit

The MG Rover article is wrong and this has been corrected now. Qvale - the car manufacturer - was founded overnight in 2000 for reasons given in this article. Qvale - the Importer of European Cars to the USA - was founded back in 1947. The Qvale was first was presented 1996 as De Tomaso Biguà and it was designed around the Visteon V8. This engine wasn't available in 1986.--NicolasCH 07:41, 18 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Pronunciation

edit

The pronunciation is strange. Most English speakers would not know how to pronounce aa. It should be more phonetically spelled.

For example, what you may be trying to get at is kuh-vah-lee (like cavalie). Or perhaps kuh-vah-lay (like cavalay).

It is strange with the initial vowel sound here. It should be two syllables in either North American or Scandinavian pronuncuation, so unless the Italians have modified it, it seems likely to just be wrong. Either at most a slight stop between the k and v sounds at most, or a v pronounced like u are possible in a general sense for this and variants in its spelling.
