R ApodisHD 131109 – So this is an interesting case. Since this star is apparently not variable, perhaps it's not appropriate for its article's name to bear its variable star designation. Proposing a move to either its Henry Draper Catalogue designation "HD 131109" or its Bright Star Catalogue designation "HR 5540". – PhilipTerryGraham (talk · articles · reviews) 08:06, 23 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • oppose accessibility issues with (unsuccessfully) trying to remember strings of 5 or 6 numbers. I never think of eclipsing binaries as variables either. The object (surely) of articles is to communicate and it drives me nuts when astronomical authors use hard-to-remember combinations of letters and numbers rather than more accessible ones.
