I plan to continue work on this article, gathering research for a more thorough review of the idea of race throughout French history, as well as antiracist thought. The current article is surely not as inclusive of different ideas as it should be, but I look forward to seeing it grow to be as expansive, perhaps, as discussion on race in other countries. This would include thinking on Negritude, Antillanité, and Racial antisemitism. France does indeed have a documented history of racism as well as thinkers who spoke against racism within the hexagon and abroad. I have hopefully provided a starting point for more contributors to contribute to a better understanding on the history and impacts of race in France. Josgouk (talk) 16:21, 8 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
This is a difficult topic to tackle because of the way France collects demographic statistics and how its public discourse is organised. Nevertheless this article, as it stands, isn’t about Race in France. It’s a summary of historical writings by people who happened to be French, which are already covered elsewhere in the encyclopaedia. The expansion outlined above would be very welcome since in its current form I’m not sure the article serves much purpose. Mccapra (talk) 07:35, 3 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
