Houses Replaced
editMany of the original houses were torn down and replaced by fewer larger houses, some time in the late 20th C. The article mentions dissatisfaction with the small original houses but not the destruction of much of the original architecture. Much of the old character is lost too, with the new houses being farther apart and fronting on the streets. I have not edited the article since I don't have a source for this beyond my own memory of the old houses.JoeBrennan (talk) 18:47, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
American Radburn design for public housing
editI move much content to American Radburn design for public housing. diff
Clearly housing estates based on the design first used at Radburn NJ are a separate issue from this article. I left behind a "main" link and a brief abstract.
The article was already in existence, and had some supplementary material. Thank you to those who had contributed to the section. Please see the separate article for further additions.
In the abstract on this page I have not attempted to fully reference the summary, but only drawn on non-controversial (proven) content that is properly referenced in the main article.
Inappropriate category
editAt least two editors to this page found the addition of Category:Unincorporated communities in New Jersey is inappropriate categorization and that it contravenes Wikipedia policy on SUB-CATEGORIZATION. Normal protocol requires a discussion on this page as part of the Wikipedia:Bold (also see: Wikipedia:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle). Please refer to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject New Jersey#Categorization of unincorporated communities in New Jersey where two of the four editors involved find the category inappropriate and another who is indifferent. Respond here or on that page. Do not revert, which would be EDIT WARRING and DISRUPTIVE. Djflem (talk) 08:21, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- This is one of those "rare" places where adding the parent and child is of benefit. Doing so creates a master list of all unincorporated communities in the state. Editors have recognized the value or doing this, and New Jersey seems to be the only state where this is not done. Magnolia677 (talk) 14:03, 7 March 2015 (UTC)
Links with Reston, VA?
editThis article mentions that Robert Simon Sr was part of Radburn's planning. How/where do these people fit in, as they're not mentioned here?
Incorrect information
editIn the section Radburn as model it says "The design was an influence on Walt Disney's design for Disney World." then cites the pages 230-231, I was interested by this claim so I decided to read the pages for myself. Page 230 is about the author (Sam Gennawey) and 231 is about the publisher. I do wonder where that claim originated though, it's just somewhat bizarre.
