Proposed change
editPropose moving 'Slermal' reference from Thermal to Slope. Also will help with stubs when time allows. Emersunn 23:12, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
Layout
editI think we need to do away with this structure:
- Forms of flight
- Types
And break it into this:
Thermal RC sailplanes categories: (description of thermal flight)
- Handlaunch
- Competition - Two Meter, Standard Class, Open Class, RES (winches and hi-starts explained)
- Scale (aerotow explained)
- Cross Country
- Electric launch (F5J)
Slope sailplanes categories:
(description of slope flight)
- Slope racing
- PSS (power scale soaring)
- Scale
- Dynamic Soaring
Commonm thermal and slope topics:
- Building (scratch, kit, arf, rtf)
- Materials (balsa, compostite, glues, covering)
- FAI competitions (F3F, F3B, F3J etc . . .)
- Competitions (local, majors)
- Radio gear (TX, RX, servos, flight data recorders)
- Ballast Explained
- Airfoils (MH, AG, E***, SD****, S****, HQ, RG, polars, Rynolds numbers, aspect ratio, camber and reflex, etc . . .)
- Meteorology
- Clubs and associations (AMA, FAI, etc)
- Batteries
- Notable people - (writers, designers, pilots) Thornberg, Drela, Wurts
Expanded
editI've had a go at tidying/expanding using some of the thoughts above, article is missing a 'history' section, when did RC gliders start for instance. A 'construction' section would be nice given all the different methods. I have created a Commons category for images and also created a 'navbox' to try and link up radio models in general.
