i think tom cruise lived in radlett for a while...

Can anyone citate any of the famous residents?Flymeoutofhere 14:52, 27 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Um...

I think "Radlett is notable for having the highest proportion of Jews for any urban area in England and Wales." might just need a cite. Icundell 22:08, 16 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I removed the uncited claim that "The cast of EastEnders are also frequently spotted on the Highstreet, doing their shopping." Highly humorous but, as Eastenders is filmed to a tight schedule at the BBC studios in Borehamwood not Radlett, it seems at least unlikely. 17:56, 26 May 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.66.117.139 (talk)

Rated B-class

edit

I've rated this article B-class on the Herts WikiProject quality scale, on account of the footnotes. However, trivia and miscellany section either needs to be removed or integrated. PeterSymonds 20:00, 5 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bombing

I don't see any source for the bombing, is there one or should it be removed? --Brianmc (talk) 11:34, 22 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Education

edit

Earlier today I deleted a whopping big list of schools outside the Radlett area and to which it was claimed the 11/12+ Radlett children attended. I'd like to go further: the list of schools for the age cohort below this seems daft and since the links seem all to be external (and often to fee paying schools) could even constitute advertising. I'll give it a month for some consensus to form regarding this. To be honest, much of the article seems to be lists but I've cut it down a bit already - WP is not intended for that purpose as per WP:NOT. Sitush (talk) 00:35, 25 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

I agree the list of schools which you deleted was of little or no value as all it comprised was a list of external links. Surprised none of the Schools serving Radlett have found there way into Wikipedia. It is better to have some prose describing the educational system eg. is it a Tertiary system or just Primary and Secondary, what schools are in the catchment area 'redlinked' if no article exists and what has been the history of education provision. If fee-paying (Prep and Public) schools exist in the community they should be included on a par its not advertising to mention them in a neutral way as long as all are local but not if they are miles away in other towns and children are just transported to them. Include any Special Schools and also any Further Education Colleges and what is done in the way of Adult education including examples of U3A if it operates. An example of what I put together see Chesham if that helps. Good luck Tmol42 (talk) 01:43, 25 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Your comments make much sense. Unfortunately (?) I have just noticed the merge tag for Radlett Preparatory School, which might blow things out of the water somewhat. I'll have to think about how to deal with this and welcome comments from anyone on that issue also (not the merge directive, but how to accomplish it) and not give overdue prominence compared to the other schools.Sitush (talk) 00:17, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
