Expanded
editI expanded things a bit because the old page was too modern and too culturally specific. See Military history for more reasons. --Rcollman 14:05, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
Category
editSuggest creation of Category:Military raids. There are certainly enough of them in history--mrg3105 (comms) ♠♥♦♣ 02:22, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Image
editI'd suggest finding a different image for this article. The one currently used doesn't strike me as suitable.Intothatdarkness (talk) 15:07, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- How about these? They seem to capture more of the concept of a military raid. Monstrelet (talk) 18:37, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- Either one looks good to me. Far better than something with Holocaust connotations.Intothatdarkness (talk) 22:28, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
Improvements to article
editThe article now has a historical development structure, but needs further improvements
- Land - a coherent development between the middle ages and WWII e.g. ACW cavalry raids, trench raiding in WWI
- Sea - Morgan's Panama raid, 18th. & 19th. century naval raids, Zeebruge
- Air - the whole airborne raiding area e.g. Eben Emael, Entebbe, heliborne raids
- A section on doctrine - e.g. raiding strategies
Please do what you can to help Monstrelet (talk) 17:02, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
