The latest updates are fantastic

edit

I am happy that this article is finally receiving edits to greatly increase the quality. For the longest time, there had been too much fan cruft in this and all other Raiden articles, plus excessive use of fan-made names for the narrative elements in this game, such as "The Cranassians" for the main antagonists of the series. It read more like a Raiden fanpage than a proper encyclopedic article...until now. Let's keep it up! JudgeSpear (talk) 22:16, 14 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Updating the Infobox

edit

Before I touch it, anyone object to updating the Infobox to use Template:Infobox Arcade Game? eXonyte 15:06, 5 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

None at all. It's using the old one we used before we had the template. Frecklefoot | Talk 16:14, September 7, 2005 (UTC)
Thanks. Consider it done. :) eXonyte 20:43, 7 September 2005 (UTC)Reply
I've update the Infobox to condense everything into just one, instead of the two that there were on the article. KGRAMR (talk) 20:25, 6 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Trying to find game

edit

I'm trying to find a game from my childhood. Does anyone know if this, or more likely one of it's sequels had you fly over a backdrop of a nazca condor? -- Paul Arzul 2006-02-02 21:00 (UTC)

The best place to ask would be at the Killer List of Videogames (the actual site, not the article). — Frecklefoot | Talk 00:23, 3 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
Space Megaforce made heavy use of Nazca line motif in it's backgrounds, so that might be the one you're thinking of. -JArcane --66.220.99.10 04:20, 7 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

"revived through a MAME ROM"

edit

The article says that "Raiden is ... revived through a MAME ROM and can run on a variety of modern systems, including PCs." It's true that MAME can emulate the game, but in order to play it legally you still need the original arcade pcbs (which are easily purchased from, for example, ebay). Alternatively you can use various home computer/console versions to play it. I'd mention those rather than the currently mentioned more difficult and legally grey way to play the game. Any comments? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.112.42.61 (talkcontribs)

I know this has come up before, but I can't remember what the consensus was. We could just mention that it's probably illegal in most areas to use MAME ROMs w/o owning the PCBs. Other than that, we're not in the role of telling people what to do. That crosses the line of NPOV. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 13:17, 2 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Raiden Trad

edit

I have a SNES cartridge "Raiden Trad". Is it not in this article because it is fake, or do I have a newer/older version of one of these, just with a different name? (It is a really fun game, so I don't think it is fake...)

PSN Release Date

edit

Right now it says that Raiden had a PSN release in 2002. As far as I know, that can't possibly be right. Moby games says the PS3/PSP PSN release was Mar 29 2007, and the Vita PSN release was August 28, 2012. I'm not sure exactly how to go about formatting the update, but it seems like a correction may be needed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.227.249.131 (talk) 16:21, 30 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

I've corrected that. Here's also the exact release dates for 4 of the ports for Raiden Trad as well: 1, 2, 3, 4. KGRAMR (talk) 20:28, 6 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
