Please help me to add content and Wikify this page. I think the Rainbow Lounge Raid 2009 will go down in LGBT history.

I added a reference from the New York Times. I also deleted a section that at least one editor considered a coatrack issue, but did so mostly because it was unsourced. Wperdue (talk) 16:53, 4 July 2009 (UTC)wperdueReply
Thanks for your help with this article! The New York Times article seems to give a good summary of what has happened so far. There is a new domain that just came out today, but hasn't been uploaded yet www.RainbowLoungeRaid.com Hopefully this will give more central information we can use here. Changed class to START page. Further events happening in the DFW area may prompt heavier response from the GBLT community. This event is continuing to unfold, and page will need further updates. Wizkid2122 (talk) 19:48, 13 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why is this article flagged for deletion?

edit

Why is this article flagged for deletion? It meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion.

1) Is the event important or newsworthy?

YES: Multiple major news networks are covering the event, and it touches on strong themes in society such as (unverified) police brutality and (unverified) gay persecution.

2) Does the article site sources?

YES: All major points in the article are sited in the appropriate footnotes.

3) Does the article take a neutral voice?

YES: Though this could be cleaned up a bit, and additional information added, there is no definite bias to the information presented, nor is the tone of the article in first-person, third-person, etc. No "weasel words" are used.

Whoever has marked this article for deletion needs to explain why they have done so. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.50.246.246 (talk) 21:39, 8 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Lack of news coverage

edit

Anyone else notice that the main news outlets haven't discussed this news story at all? Why isn't that mentioned in the article? --98.232.181.201 (talk) 08:36, 18 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Because it would be original research ? and we don't do original research. --Cameron Scott (talk) 09:23, 18 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
