School feeling like a prison
editOne problem with a compulsory leaving age is that school can begin to feel like a prison - corral the unruly mob? Addressing this issue would require a more subtle approach, certainly more so than just concentrating on a fixed leaving age. The variety of ability, interest and maturity of young people/children at 16 is quite shocking. Anon coward, UK —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.30.126.139 (talk) 09:09, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
editCyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

South Dakota listed twice
editI noticed that South Dakota is listed on this page both under "States that have raised their minimum dropout age to 18" and "States debating raising the minimum dropout age above 16." I don't know which is correct, so I didn't edit it, but if someone knows which one is correct, it should be edited. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:BCD9:3370:1D8A:653E:A647:C7D (talk) 21:59, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
Contradictory
editThe article title implies the topic is about compulsory schooling, but the lead section talks about compulsory education. This is a very big difference, especially when considering that the countries listed have sometimes compulsory education or compulsory schooling laws. It would be appreciated if someone could make this distinction clearer to prevent misunderstandings.-- Maxeto0910 (talk) 15:42, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
