Birthdate
editAccording to [1], it's unknown whether Waite was born in 1928 or 1929. RJaguar3 | u | t 20:30, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Probably needs to be fixed:
"He owns a farM in Hawaii and has unicorns. He has wonderful skills in gardening and he is a black belt in karate. His former career as plummer lead him to believe he was a cowboy." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.242.110.14 (talk) 16:37, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
An addition to television roles
editRalph Waite also guest starred in an episode of the short lived television series, "Off the Map". 98.64.246.71 (talk) 22:33, 4 September 2011 (UTC) The article was in need of updating and no one seemed to have cared. I updated it to include his most recent role and edited many lines that were now dated and needed to be clarified. Please do not undo these edits, as that would be unconstructive. If you have issues with these updates and changes, come to the talk page and civilly discuss them rather than vandalize or begin an edit war. Thank you 74.233.198.125 (talk) 16:31, 10 September 2011 (UTC)
Is there a history here of warring? I wouldn't expect this article to get that much traffic. rags (talk) 08:28, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
Correction of the Slater character in the TV mini series Roots
editCorrected the correct character title in the mini-series Roots. Slater in the television mini series was third mate and NOT first mate. Slater may have been a first mate in the BOOK, he was not first mate in the mini series. Please review the citation, if you dispute this FACT. Please leave the edit alone and discuss on the talk page to properly dispute this fact. When answering please cite your source that claims Slater was a first mate in the mini series and NOT the book. Thank you.65.8.137.14 (talk) 18:49, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
- And two years later the intro paragraph still indicates "first mate!" Instead of whining, how about fixing it? --Joe Sewell (talk) 17:13, 17 February 2014 (UTC)

photo
editIn the thousands of articles I have viewed, I have not once whined about a photograph. The first photo is terrible! I understand about free use, etc. Waite had a readily recognized face. The angle of the shot is bad. This pic is maybe o.k. for farther down the page, but not as the frontespiece, the firat photo of the article. He's unrecognizable. If no one else sees a problem, I certainly have no replacement, but imo ...rags (talk) 09:39, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
