RanchuRanchū – Correct Japanese word spelling. Gryffindor (talk) 23:25, 12 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose, we don't follow the "correct" (romanized) spelling whether that be Japanese or any language. We use the WP:COMMONNAME in English-language not Japanese(-affiliated) sources. No evidence of such new common use provided. The sources used in this article use the current title, while a quick search shows more use the current.[1][2][3][4][5] compared to "no results" for the proposed on Google News. While the current only appears on Ngrams compared to no results for the proposed. DankJae 19:25, 13 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose per DankJae. Moreover, since English language does not contain accents or diacritics, transliterations into English from languages that do not use the Latin alphabet likewise should not contain any marks that are not part of English. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 03:38, 14 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
