The enrollment is not accurate for the buildings and for the district itself. If that could be removed that would be really helpful, and you could also remove the name of the Superintendent and Business Administrator as well if that makes it easier for long term editing for Wikipedia. The good news is for our district, the information is now accurate! Whereas before it was inaccurate. I would add to the conversation that nearly all of the information on this page is inaccurate including the budget which is about 8 years old and even the awards are very out of date. Is it possible to request a more basic page? Mpfouts (talk) 17:55, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
The enrollment information is not accurate though. But the leadership is now accurate for those specific buildings whereas it wasn't before. Mpfouts (talk) 17:56, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Praxidicae, you might want to take a look at WP:DIRECTORY before using it as an excuse for removal of content. The inclusion of the lead administrator at a school is not 1) Simple listings without contextual information showing encyclopedic merit, 2) Lists or repositories of loosely associated topics, 3) Non-encyclopedic cross-categorizations, 4) Genealogical entries, 5) Electronic program guides or 6) A resource for conducting business. Broad consensus is that such information can be -- and should be -- included in such articles. Now that WP:DIRECTORY is clearly irrelevant can you point to any actual policy that requires removal or is your only justification the argument that what you don't like is "unnecessary"? Nor can I understand why a COI editors request to remove information should be guiding editing decisions. Alansohn (talk) 18:11, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'm acutely aware of our policy and guideline on not creating directories and that you also believe that we should ignore it. I have no interest in further discussing this with you as I don't feel like engaging with someone who practices extreme ownership over all articles that could be remotely New Jersey related, and because of that, I have no interest in editing this article further to fix it. Have a nice day. PRAXIDICAE💕18:13, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
I just want to add to this that I wasn't requesting the removal of anything unless if it made it easier for Wikipedia in terms of maintenance. I am happy the information is up to date, which can include whatever administrators Wikipedia wants to add. We have many. We just want to make sure the information is up to date, which at this present time is. I did want to ask a question about the search engine facing side of Wikipedia. If you google Randolph Township Schools, It is still listing "Gerald Eckert" as Business Administrator on the Wikipedia pop up when it is in fact Stephen Frost. The Business Administrator page itself has been updated with the correct information, I just wasn't sure if there needed to be a specific request for the search engine side of Wikipedia. I don't know if that's a separate section or not? Mpfouts (talk) 18:18, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
I've removed the part about the school's ranking, because it was questionably relevant (we're not writing an article to appeal to potential students or their parents) and wouldn't help much in understanding what the subject is/does. A Wikipedia article should be, at most, a semi-detailed summary of its subject, covering it in enough detail to explain what it is and what it does in a more "broad strokes" sort of fashion. Our audience isn't parents looking for the right school for their kids, it's regular people from all over the world. We tend to get complaints when an article looks even remotely like it's promoting a subject. Oh, and that thing about Google? That's not on us; Google caches its search results and so edits to Wikipedia articles will not be reflected in Google's search results immediately; this is doubly so for the Knowledge Panel as it culls information from multiple different sources, of which Wikipedia is only one of them. —Jéské Courianov^_^va little blue Bori19:18, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
