At the end of the article, it states that all of Rapture is destroyed. I don't think this is correct. The final cinematic shows Fontaine Futuristics is demolished but other buildings surrounding it are still standing. Rapture is a large city, the majority of which is still functioning. In the book "Rapture" (based on the game), it states that the foundations were placed in solid rock,
and not over the chasm. An explosion may destroy 1 or 2 buildings, but the city as a whole would have survived.
