- Reliable sources: Rason, not Rasŏn, is universally used by reliable sources. For example: NYT, AFP, Reuters.
- Common use: A web search for Rason, North Korea nets 587,000 results,[1] whereas Rasŏn, North Korea yields 49,500.[2]
- English language: When Korean loan words are adapted into English, they lose their diacritics. See: Pyongyang, Chaebol, Hangul. Shrigley (talk) 03:18, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
- Comment shouldn't it be Rason, North Korea, with Rason being a disambiguation page? I think the Western Australian ministry would be more likely for an English-speaking audience. And Nason is a disambiguation page, and not the place in the USA... 70.49.124.157 (talk) 04:56, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
- Rasŏn got 50x more views than Rason Ministry in the last month[3][4] and I don't think Rason Ministry is ever called just "Rason". "Nason" is almost never in English language texts, so its being a disambiguation page is fair. Shrigley (talk) 15:23, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
- If you apply the same reasoning, it should be the place in the US, and not a disambiguation page. If that is a disambiguation page, then "Rason" should be a disambiguation page. 70.49.124.157 (talk) 05:08, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
- I actually agree that "Nason" should point to the place in the US. The problem is, current US naming conventions prefer a "city, state" title to just a "city" title. However, I am mostly concerned with "Rason". You could make the redirect or start a move request yourself on the other article. Shrigley (talk) 15:46, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
