Not A Castle
editIt is a 'palace' or 'Stately Home'. The English word "Castle" is a "Burg" in German, not a "Schloss" (although granted, sometimes the lines get blurred). 195.213.129.122 (talk) 08:09, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
- I agree that 'castle' is definitely wrong. 'Palace' however seems to be too grandiose for a manor house. It is called 'Schloss' in German because it is owned by a former ruling dynasty, whereas 'Manor houses' are typically the seats of landed gentry. If it were located in England it would either simply be called 'House' (like Sandringham House) or 'Abbey' (like Forde Abbey) because of its past. So it is indeed difficult to find the right word.
