Founding date
editI'm puzzled. According to the article, Ratio started publication in 1988; and the journal's web site has numbers going back to that year. But I have a number before me right now dated December 1976 (it's Volume XVIII, No. 2), and the blub inside the front cover says that it was founded in 1957 by Julius Kraft. 81.131.46.219 (talk) 15:52, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
I think the problem is there was an earlier journal. Issue one of this journal in 1988 has a little note describing itself as new series. My library catalogue has copies of the earlier series Ratio Published Oxford : Basil Blackwell - Vol.1-29, 1957-87. ISSN: 0034-0006 I don't know if we should have a new article or what. I will have a think. (Msrasnw (talk) 20:21, 1 April 2012 (UTC)) It also lists an ISSN: 1467-9329 and notes that Notes: Also issued in a German ed., which ceased before 1988. Subject: Philosophy Periodicals - Known As: Abhandlungen der Fries'schen Schule
Ratio Volume 1, Issue 1, page 1, June 1988 has the note:Ratio has ceased publication in its original form with the ending of sponsorship by the Society for the Furtherance of the Critical Philosophy and the Philosophisch-politische Akademie. However, we are pleased to announce he publication of this first issue of Ratio (New Series).... (Msrasnw (talk) 20:31, 1 April 2012 (UTC))
- Thank you, Msrasnw, for finding that out. Perhaps the article needs to mention the original/n.s. distinction. (I am the one puzzled, but I forgot to sign my contribution. Sorry about that.) 86.185.221.149 (talk) 15:20, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
