- When I wrote the above, I assumed that the material/def in Rational language is actually found in those sources, but that doesn't seem to be the case so see also Talk:Regular_language#Merger_proposal. In case someone can reference the def of rational language that isn't entirely synonymous with regular language, then it should be merged here. Otherwise it should be redirected to regular language. - I would support the merge of rational language into this article. The equivalence of rational and regular languages is a theorem and I was hoping to put together some articles that explained those concepts, together with that of recognisable languages, especially when the setting is a more general monoid. For various reasons that never happened, so perhaps more energetic and knowledgeable editors will complete it at some stage. Deltahedron (talk) 06:41, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
