Ratko Janev was (also) Macedonian representaive at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) with diplomatic status.

editHe was born in Bulgaria were he completed his basic education, i.e. he had Bulgarian roots. Janev graduated on the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Belgrade, Serbia in 1963. Post-graduate studies he completed in 1965 at the Faculty of Natural Sciences in Belgrade, and then he joined the Institute of Nuclear Sciences in Vinca, Serbia. Since 1969 he taught courses at postgraduate studies on the Faculty Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Belgrade, Serbia.
