The result of the move request was: move. -- tariqabjotu 13:23, 29 June 2013 (UTC)
Rau ward, Tanzania → Rau (Tanzanian ward) – User:AfricaTanz recently moved the draft here as part of an ongoing campaign effort to modify the titles of Tanzanian ward articles; compare WT:WikiProject Tanzania and Talk:Rombo. A request to move various ward articles to "X ward of Tanzania" was roundly rejected there. Per WP:Disambiguation geographical articles may use comma-separated disambiguation, and I'd also be content with either Rau, Tanzania or Rau, Moshi, both of which have precedents (Matola, Tanzania and Ninga, Njombe, respectively), but that's not the most common variant in Category:Wards of Tanzania, nor does a single other article use the "X ward" format used here. The source refers to the ward just as "Rau". Huon (talk) 01:27, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
- Why are you so opposed to helping our readers by challenging the addition of one word to an article title? I'm simply amazed at your hyperreliance on an ambiguous policy. By the way, you really should have already stopped denigrating my edits and motivations. Your characterization of what I do as a "campaign" is offensive. I suggest you remove it - quickly. Cheers. - Sorry about that; I meant no offense and have changed the wording. All I wanted to say is that this is not an isolated occurrence but part of a larger pattern where you and I disagree on what the best article titles should be. Huon (talk) 06:02, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
- Support reverting to Rau (Tanzanian ward), or alternatively retitling as Rau, Tanzania. The wording "Rau ward" is inconsistent with similar articles. On a more general note, the page moves carried out by AfricaTanz lately on Tanzanian locations have been controversial, or even universally opposed. In light of this it would be better if this user proposed and obtained consensus for such moves at Wikipedia:Requested moves before making them, and/or formally proposed a policy change to the Manual of Style for place names. —Psychonaut (talk) 08:29, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
- Support. Agree with Huon and Psychonaut; would recommend Rau, Tanzania. Ali Fazal (talk) 17:37, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
