editIt is a mistake to shoehorn Arabic names into the English style of surnames. I removed the listas -- and someone reverted this edit with the edit summary, "No, he's Russian".
I suggest this is misleading.
Russian citizen? Yes. Ethnic Russian? No. The guy is a Muslim, from one of the Muslim regions of the Soviet Union. Geo Swan (talk) 02:46, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
- He may be a Muslim, but his name is not Arabic. I mean, just look at it - does "Shafeyavich" or "Gumarov" sound Arabic to you? Katharineamy (talk) 11:55, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
