I discovered that parts of this article were copied from the personal website of Freeman (https://web.archive.org/web/20220409153742/http://www.ray-freeman.org/biography.html). I would like to maintain the encyclopedic parts but rewrite the parts which were directly copied or too autobiographical in style. I'm posting a link to the archived version of the website as it was a little hard to find. If someone else gets to this before I do, please go ahead and make the necessary edits.
