Dr. Watts is notoriously known for shutting down UAB's sports program. He conspired behind the sport's department's back in order to shut down the football, bowling, and rifle club programs claiming it was for financial reasons. Many suspect that his true intentions is to reduce competition with UAB's sister university, the University of Alabama located in Tuscaloosa, and thus appease the wishes of the predominately UA board of trustees that run both sister campuses. 71.45.44.49 (talk) 03:23, 3 December 2014 (UTC)

Please delete the sentence: "He has been tireless in his efforts to eliminate undergraduate programs — from neglecting the best interests of thousands of students to eliminating the football program, an act he performed at the behest of the University of Alabama Board of Trustees despite the massive unpopularity of his efforts."
It is vandalism occurring because of his announcement to end football at the university. Lfgunter (talk) 16:03, 4 December 2014 (UTC)
